Activities developed

The laboratory has the main purpose the research in Operations and Production Management, Agile and Responsive Operations, Operations Research, Logistics and Supply Chain, Processes and Materials for the Oil and Gas Industry, Maintainability and Reliability, CBM, PHM and Risk. The main research area relies on risk assessment in oil and gas productive chain, as well as the study of the processes, evaluation and risk management of the activities, facilities, both onshore and offshore operations, as well as the safety of employees involved in operations. Also, construction of scenarios, historical analyzes, study of social, environmental, economic and accident impacts. This is a laboratory also registered in the National Petroleum Agency (ANP), with joint research projects in the areas of biofuels – energies from other sources – biomass gasification; exploration and production of oil and natural gas – reliability and risk-based maintenance study and floating systems – risk analysis for FPSO systems; distribution, logistics and transportation; and security and environment – risk assessment and management – risk assessment and management in the oil and gas production chain. The Laboratory is responsible for coordinating R&I project with Petrobras for the Development of Condition-Based Maintenance Methodology for BOP.
