Application and Enrollment

Step 1

Refer to the following website to find out whether your course and study field are offered at UFF.

Step 2

Make sure there is a Mobility Agreement between your institution and UFF. If not, it is advisable to contact your International Office about the possibility of their signing an agreement with UFF.

Step 3

Contact the International Office at your institution to find out about the necessary internal procedures for an application to UFF.

Step 4

After being approved to do an International Mobility by your institution, you are required to apply to UFF at this website.

  • Select the Foreign Student option;
  • Create an account;
  • Hit the “Undergraduate Studies” (Graduação) button.

You will need to supply the following information:

  • Personal Information: home address, passport number, etc.
  • Academic Information: address of the institution, coordinator’s name, course, etc.
  • Mobility Information: courses you wish to enroll in at UFF, Portuguese course, etc.
  • Documentation: you will be required to upload the following documents in PDF format, in Portuguese, English, or Spanish:
    • Candidate’s portrait photo, following ICAO guidelines;
    • Passport information – your passport must be valid for the whole period of your stay in Brazil;
    • Official university transcript signed and stamped;
    • Letter written by the candidate explaining the reasons why he or she wishes to come to UFF;
    • Letter of Recommendation written by a professor from your institution – that should be signed and stamped or signed and printed out on official paper;
    • Certificate of Proficiency in Portuguese issued by your institution or accredited language school stating you are proficient enough to attend classes in Portuguese – this certificate is not required from native speakers of Portuguese or Spanish.

Note: please bear in mind that your choice of courses is temporary, depending on the availability of the Departments involved. There may be changes at the time of your enrollment when you get to UFF. All students are required to choose at least three courses and no more than seven.

Please do not forget to finish so the form can be saved. You will then be contacted by the International Cooperation Office in due course

Step 5

After an initial analysis of your application, you will be informed, via your e-mail address, whether something is pending, in which case you will be asked to supply the necessary information or documentation. If nothing is pending, you will be asked to print out a document, issued by the platform, to be signed and validated by the academic and institutional coordinators of your institution.

The signed document must then be scanned and uploaded back onto our platform so the International Office at UFF can go on with the final analysis of your application.

Step 6

In case you are accepted, you will be informed on the platform. An Acceptance Letter will then be sent to you so you can apply for a Student Visa and start preparing for your trip to Brazil.

Step 1

Refer to the following site to determine whether your course and study field are offered at UFF or this site if you are planning to do research in one of our laboratories.

Step 2 (only for Graduate Studies)

Contact the Agreement Coordinator at your home institution to learn about the internal procedures for your application to UFF.

Step 3

Access our application form at this link.

Step 4

Fill in the form with the required information and finish the process.

Required Documentation:

  • Copy of passport – your passport must be valid for the whole period of your stay in Brazil;
  • Cover Letter written by the candidate explaining the reasons why he or she wishes to come to UFF to study or carry out research work;
  • If a UFF supervisor has already accepted you, upload the Acceptance Letter.

Step 5

The International Office then sends a copy of your application form, which must be printed out and signed by your home institution’s academic and institutional coordinators. The duly signed form must then be e-mailed to mobilidadeinsri@id.uff.br.

Step 6

As for those who have not been accepted by their chosen UFF Program/Laboratory yet, their applications will be sent over for evaluation. If their assessment is positive (or if, indeed, the student has already been accepted), the International Cooperation Office will send the Acceptance Letter (if not already sent by the Graduate Program/Laboratory), as well as any other relevant information, to the e-mail address indicated in the application form.

As far as medical students are concerned, the International Cooperation mobility program is only open to candidates from universities UFF has agreements with. In addition, it accepts candidates only for internships at the Hospital Universitário Antônio Pedro where students are offered a Practical Internship (Internato Médico). Regular courses available on the Undergraduate list are not available.
