Activities developed
Our laboratory has as main activities the designing, synthesis and structural characterization of nitrogen-, oxygen- and sulfur containing functionally substituted new heterocyclic compounds (triazoles, pyrazoles, pyrimidinone, etc) with potential biological properties (antiviral, anticancer, antibacterial, antifungal, etc). We also work on synthesis of organic compounds with potential technological applications such as anti-corrosion and anti-fouling.
Study background required
- Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmacy
- Undergraduate and Graduate students that have done experimental disciplines about organic chemistry
Possible risks envolved
The risks envolved refer to the use of reagents and chemical solvents of common use in organic chemistry laboratories, but with its proper protection (use of personal protective equipment) and use of hoods with hood (lab infrastructure) there aren’t big risks.
